Introducing Bright Matter | Wearing Glass

Some projects come together so effortlessly that they feel like they were always meant to be. Bright Matter is one of those. It’s a playful, joyful collision of materials, colour, and creativity—brought to life through a collaboration between myself and Pip Day of Daylight Design.

Pip works her magic with hand-painted resin, creating bold, luminous ‘scales’ of colour that are full of texture and movement. I, on the other hand, spend my days coaxing molten glass into organic, sculptural forms that play with transparency, shape, and light. Together, we’ve created a capsule collection of jewellery that celebrates contrast—the sharp and the smooth, the bright and the soft, the bold and the delicate.

At the heart of the collection is a pair of earrings we keep coming back to, our favourite design that we think will be a perfect fit for stockists. These earrings feature Pip’s resin ‘scales’ at the top, paired with my spiky glass forms—organic circles with tiny sculpted blobs radiating outward. They’re a little bit celestial, a little bit otherworldly, and a lot of fun. We’ve named them Nova Wreath, and we love how they catch the light and demand attention.

What makes Bright Matter special is its sheer sense of joy—these pieces aren’t about restraint; they’re about embracing colour, form, and texture in all their wild, brilliant glory. They’re about movement and energy, light and contrast, and the way that two creative minds can come together to make something new and exciting.
