Pin Point

I’ve spent a lot of time on the sofa lately. For a while, I was pretty much horizontal all day, but as I’ve got a bit more energy back I’ve been able to get on with things. I still need a rest or two during the day, so I’ve been making things in small bursts, wherever I happen to be.
These brooches started with a pile of random beads I’d made over the years and never found a use for. I added bits of felted wool, something I learnt to make from my teenage son over summer. And the pins are crafted from the stainless steel rods I usually wind glass around to make beads.
There’s nothing particularly complicated about them. They’re just a happy collection of things I had lying around, brought together because I liked how they looked. A bit of zero waste, a bit of sofa making and a very good excuse to keep making things while I’m slowly finding my way back into the studio.
And now they get to go out into the world and hang out above Andrea's lovely gift shop. Which seems about right, don't you think?
