Reliquary | Undersized

Reliquary | Undersized

This body of work extends my Reliquary collection into a small series of hanging glass vials.

Each piece is lampworked by hand and filled with foraged fragments such as feathers, butterfly wings, sand and seeds, gathered slowly and with care.

The vials reference historic ideas of collecting and keeping small precious things held onto for the meaning they carry rather than their value. Encasing these fragments in glass is both an act of preservation and care, acknowledging their fragility while allowing them to be seen.

Working at a small scale is central to my practice. These pieces ask the viewer to come close, slow down and notice what is often overlooked. Within the context of the Undersized exhibition, the work celebrates quiet moments, modest materials and the beauty found in small things.
